Hearing on UML Chair Oli’s writ to continue Tuesday



KATHMANDU: Hearing on the writ petition filed by CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli against Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota, the Election Commission (EC) and 14 defecting lawmakers, including Madhav Kumar Nepal, did not conclude on Monday.

According to Supreme Court, hearing on the writ assigned to the division bench of Justices Deepak Karki and Kumar Chudal would continue Tuesday.

Then legal advisors of UML Chair Oli, advocates Babu Ram Dahal and Ramesh Badal, among others, presented their arguments in today’s hearing.

Questioning the role of the Speaker and the impartiality of the Election Commission in the action taken against 14 lawmakers, including Madhav Kumar Nepal, the UML chair had filed a writ in the court.

The hearing on the writ took place today after frequent postponements.
