SC issues interim order to prioritize vaccination for journalists

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has issued an interim order for prioritizing vaccination against Covid-19 to journalists.

A single bench of Justice Dr. Kumar Chudal Sunday ordered the government to give priority to vaccinate frontline journalists.

Journalist and advocate Lila Nath Ghimire had filed a writ petition seeking priority vaccination to journalists by naming the Prime Minister and the Office of the Council of Ministers as defendants.

Advocates Bishnu Kumar Giri and Ghimire himself argued in the hearing today.

The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) had also held talks with the Minister of Health and Population and the Minister of Communications and Information Technology to prioritize vaccination to journalists.
