Biplav outfit “positive” for dialogue with government



KATHMANDU: The outlawed faction led by Netra Bikram Chand “Biplav” of the Nepal Communist Party has expressed its readiness to hold talks with the government.

Issuing a press statement on Saturday, the outfit’s General Secretary ‘Biplav’ said that his party was positive to hold talks with with the government.

“Our party has been a conscious initiative for revolution, nation, society and people aspiring for progressive move in the country,” Biplav has said in the statement.

“Provided a conducive environment is made for conducting our activities and programs in the public, we are positive for dialogue with the government,” he has said.

Sources have claimed that the government was in touch with Biplav outfit leaders and cadres of various levels though the government has declared a ban on the party’s activities in the country.

The source claimed that the government has used senior leaders of Biplav outfit like Dharmendra Bastola, Hemanta Prakash Oli and Anil Sharma ‘Birahi’ to create the environment for talks.

The government had released Birahi from jail saying it would help in making good environment for dialogue with Biplav.

Similarly, Ministry for Drinking Water Mani Thapa, who had been a former Maoist, had met and talked with Biplav outfit leaders duo Bastola and Oli in Nakkhu Jail in Kathmandu some weeks ago.
