Teachers Service Commission sans officials for 5 months

KATHMANDU: The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has been sans officials for the past five months.

The tenure of the Chairperson and members of the Commission ended on September 30.

The Commission makes recommendations for the appointment of vacant teachers and staff in community schools as per the posts approved by the Government of Nepal and for the promotion of teachers and staff appointed to such posts.

According to the Information Officer at the Commission, Sudarshan Maratha, the task of publishing advertisements and teaching permits in the vacant posts in community schools across the country has been halted due to lack of officials.

According to him, there are about 12,000 vacancies in community schools across the country.

He said that the Education and Human Resource Development Center has sent the details of 9,106 vacancies at the primary level, 1,913 at the lower secondary level and 1,042 at the secondary level to the commission.
