KATHMANDU: Former Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Kamal Thapa has said that the political parties and the people should have faith in the restoration of the monarchy and remarked that the current activities from Nirmal Niwas were not conducive to that.
Thapa, who is demanding an investigation into the unwanted activities of Nirmal Niwas, including former King Gyanendra, against him at the RPP General Convention, has accused the monarchy of interfering in the internal affairs of the party.
Thapa, who raised his voice in favor of the Hindu state and reinstatement of monarchy, said the monarchy cannot be reinstated by seeking the support of foreigners.
“The only way to reinstate the monarchy is through the trust of political parties and the general public,” Thapa said on social media.
Nirmal Niwas’s notion of reinstatement of the monarchy by creating instability in the streets can be counterproductive.
