Dr Mahat insists on making party competent for victory in election

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) joint general secretary Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has said it would be better if the upcoming party leadership was elected through a consensus.

He said so while addressing the Province Assembly regional convention for the constituency ‘A’ and ‘B’ under the Kathmandu-5 held today in course of the party’s upcoming 14th General Convention.

“We are competing for the leadership within the party. But in reality, we should be able to well compete with other political parties in the upcoming election. After the General Convention, party’s entire attention should be on securing a victory in the election,” he asserted.

He called on the representatives competing for different posts in the party to take the race as usual and accept the election results and abide by the culture of harmony and unity as in the past.

Today was the day of the Province Assembly regional convention in 46 districts across the country in course of the General Convention scheduled to be held on December 10-12 in Kathmandu.
