Five-party alliance will continue till elections: Unified Socialist Chair Nepal

KATHMANDU: Chairman of CPN-Unified Socialist Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that his party would join the government this week.

Addressing a seminar and cadres’ meet organized by the party’s Kaski district committee in Pokhara Sunday, Chairman Nepal said that the Unified Socialist will select the leaders to join the federal cabinet. On the occasion, Chairman Nepal stated that the current five-party coalition would be maintained till the upcoming election.

“The erstwhile government did not properly address the people’s woes. The current coalition government should not repeat the past mistakes. We should serve the people by further strengthening the coalition,” the former Prime Minister argued.

Urging the party cadres not to think about rejoining the UML, leader Nepal said, “We are the true communist party. Others have hurt the heart of communist party. They weakened and defamed the communist party.”

Chairman Nepal also clarified the Unified Socialist won’t go for unification with the Maoist Centre and any other force but would advance on its own strength. Likewise, Nepal said that it was necessary to safeguard the achievements of people’s movement including republicanism, federalism and secularism.
