Three women arrested for trying to honey trap man in Dang



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three women for trying to extort millions of rupees by using honey trap against a man in Dang.

The arrested have been identified as Sita Devi Thapa, 32, Khuma Oli, 35, and Susma Pariyar, 32, of Dang.

Police arrested them Friday after the victim lodged a complaint saying that the three women threatened of filing a rape case against him after all of them spent some time together to discuss the female trio’s legal work. They also drank liquor in the course of their meeting and later began bargaining for Rs 5 million, threatening to file a false case of rape against the victim.

Preliminary investigation showed that the three women took one lakh rupees in cash and a cheque of Rs. 17 lakh from the victim. Police said they recovered the cheque of Rs. 17 lakh from Thapa’s room. They also found an agreement that the perpetrators had loaned the received one lakh cash on high interest to a third party.
