Former Kathmandu Mayor PL Singh rejects “Sruprasidhha Prabal Jana Sewa Shree” medal

KATHMANDU: Former mayor and Nepali Congress (NC) leader PL Singh has rejected the ‘Sruprasidhha Prabal Jana Sewa Shree’ provided by the government on the occasion of Constitution Day.

As soon as the decision of the cabinet was made public, Singh, who is also a former minister, said it is against his moral values to accept this honor.

He said since he has not accepted this Constitution brought after the “conspiratorial assassination” of the 2047 BS (1991) constitution, he would not accept the decoration given under this Constitution.

Singh said he made the decision using his right to accept, reject and boycott honors in the name of the state.
