PMEP, Glocal launch training for PMEP service centers’ staff



KATHMANDU: The Prime Minister Employment Program (PMEP) under the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security (MoLESS), in collaboration with Glocal Pvt. Ltd., has launched a capacity building training for PMEP service centers’ staffers.

The launch of the training was held virtually Monday. The training is set to commence Tuesday and Glocal After School, a venture of Glocal Pvt. Ltd, in support of International Labor Organization (ILO), is the training-implementing partner.

As many as 1,506 local staff of 753 PMEP employment service centers across the country will receive the 6-hour capacity building training on project cycle management (PCM) and communication from July 20 to July 30, 2021.

PMEP is flagship program of MoLESS focused in the development of projects and programs to enable the unemployed get employment. One employment coordinator and one technical assistant in each 753-local level are working to ensure success of the flagship program.

For the training, the total of 1,506 participants from 753 local levels are divided among four groups each day in the course of 10 days. Each batch will be placed for one-day training from July 20 to 29, 2021.

In this extensive training, participants will learn about PMEP, approach and strategies for local employment promotion, fundaments of PCM, tools and techniques for project design and management, monitoring and evaluation, public employment programs, learning and experiences, approach of documentation, reporting and communication and effective services and delivery by employment services centers. With the training, participants will be able to develop their understanding about Result Based Management and effective communication at a larger level.
