Sydney’s ANC picks Rabindra Sharma as new president



KATHMANDU: Rabindra Kumar Sharma has been elected the President of Auburn Nepalese Community (ANC) in Sydney, Australia.

After being elected, President Sharma, who has been actively involved in the promotion of Nepali films and cultural programs in Sydney, expressed a commitment to work for the rights and welfare of Nepalis living in Sydney and Australia through the organization.

Similarly, newly elected ANC vice presidents are Jitendra Shrestha and Sabin Dangi, Santosh Acharya is the general secretary, Rajesh Tandon the secretary, Tamanna Sharma the treasurer, Sabla Basnet the women coordinator and Yuddika Kunwar the youth coordinator. Likewise, Manoj Adhikari, Bhupendra Kandel, Ayush Adhikari, Nishan Karki, Dhiren Bahadur Thapa and Dipendra Ghimire are new members of ANC.

Meanwhile, the society selected Dinesh Kumar Pokhrel, Manarishi Dhital, Ramesh Bania, Raj Kumar Shrestha, Raju Giri and Shashi Rai as advisors. Former president Ashok Upreti is chosen as a patron.

A significant number of Nepalis live in Sydney’s urban areas and across Australia.
