BUTWAL: As many as seven persons including a journalist succumbed to COVID-19. Four died in Butwal-based Lumbini Provincial Hospital while three breathed their last in Bhairahawa-based Bhim Hospital due to coronavirus infection as of 6.00 am this morning since last night.

A journalist from Rupandehi Hikmat Chaudhary who was undergoing treatment at a special hospital in Butwal lost his life to a coronavirus infection.

Journalist Chaudhary, 61, of Tilottama-5 who has been under treatment since last May 8 passed away this morning. Chaudhary has been professionally associated with Radio Lumbini for over 15 years.

According to Hospital Spokesperson Dr Bishnu Gautam, a 60-year-old woman of Tinau-6, Palpa, a 52-year-old man of Butwal-13, and a 60-year-old man of Butwal-7 died in the provincial hospital today.

Likewise, a 57-year-old man of Omasatiya, Rupandehi a 46-year-old man of Parasi, and a 45-year-old man of Lumbini municipality died of coronavirus infection, informed Bhim Hospital spokesperson Narayan Pokharel. RSS
