PM Deuba calls all-party meeting at 4 pm Sunday

To discuss UML's obstruction in parliament and MCC

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has convened an all-party meeting in the federal parliament to discuss the ongoing impasse relating to obstruction in the parliament and the agenda of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) on Sunday.

The all-party meeting has been called at Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor for 4 pm Sunday.

“The PM called an all-party meeting to end the ongoing impasse in parliament and make the MCC the agenda in the ongoing session of the parliament,” a member of the Prime Minister’s secretariat said.

UML has been obstructing both the houses of the Federal Parliament since the parliament’s last session.

MCC has been registered in the parliament for a long. The United States has been urging the government to make a decision on the grant at the earliest. However, owing to the lack of consensus among the parties in the ruling alliance, the agenda of MCC is stuck in the parliament.
