DoI cancels provision of mandatory quarantine to travelers from 67 countries

KATHMANDU: The Department of Immigration has postponed the seven-day hotel quarantine rule for travelers from 67 different countries until further notice, citing the increased risk of the latest Omicron variant of the coronavirus.

Issuing a notice on Saturday, the Department canceled the travel ban issued earlier on December 17.

DoI has notified that other information related to the travel advisory published on September 24 and December 2 will remain the same.

Earlier, in a statement issued on Friday, DoI had told that the passengers from 67 countries, including the United States, European countries, and Malaysia, would have to undergo hotel quarantine for seven days at their own expense.
