KATHMANDU: The Nepal government has made it mandatory for the travelers from 67 countries affected by Omicron to go into hotel quarantine for seven days.
The Department of Immigration in a press note has stated that the travelers arriving in Nepal from 67 countries, where the Omicron has already gained a foothold, have to undergo a seven-day hotel quarantine upon their arrival.
According to the Department, the concerned travelers themselves have to bear the cost of expenses during their hotel stay.
Those who stay in the quarantine have to undergo coronavirus test after seven days. They have to stay into home quarantine for seven days in case their test report comes out negative.
In case the report comes out positive, they will be sent to the designated isolation centers or the hospitals, the Department has said.
The entry into Nepal has been tightened after the cases of Omicron started spreading in many Asian countries including India.
