KABUL: Nine Afghan security force members have died in a helicopter crash late on Wednesday, officials have said.
Afghanistan’s Defense Ministry said nine service members were killed in a helicopter crash.
The helicopter was hit by a rocket during take-off in central Maidan Wardak province, Reuters reported.
However, it was not clear who fired the rocket. There have been no claims of responsibility, it said.
The Defense Ministry said it was investigating the crash.
The helicopter had been on a supply mission.
Likewise, four people were killed and nine injured when a roadside bomb hit a bus carrying Afghan government employees in Kabul Thursday, Reuters said.
The blast hit a bus rented by the Afghan Ministry of Information and Technology to transport employees, according to Abdul Samad Hamid Poya, a ministry adviser.
No one claimed immediate responsibility for the blasts.
