KATHMANDU: Five Supreme Court judges, who began hearing regular cases, have expressed solidarity with Nepal Bar Association’s struggle aimed at Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana’s exit.
Officials of Nepal Bar and Supreme Bar Association held discussion with the five SC judges, who have begun hearing cases, Wednesday.
In the meeting, the five judges expressed full support towards Bar’s protest, said Supreme Bar Secretary Rishi Ram Ghimire. The judges told officials of the two associations that they had begun hearing cases as dispensation of justice was being marred by uncertainty.
The five judges said that they fully supported the Bar’s movement and did not have a different opinion on it.
A majority of SC judges have been boycotting the bench assigned by CJ Rana calling on him to resign since October 24.
However, judges Bam Kumar Shrestha, Manoj Kumar Sharma, Tej Bahadur KC, Kumar Regmi and Kumar Chudal began sitting on the benches assigned to hear regular cases.
