Nepal’s national flag hoisted at Nepal-India border in Bhadrapur

KATHMANDU: A three-meter-long national flag was hoisted at the Nepal-India border in Bhadrapur Friday.

Bhadrapur Municipality Ward 5 office provided the national flag to Nepali police post situated across the Mechi Bridge to hoist it after the old flag wore out and was removed.

Ward 5 Chairman Bandhu Karki handed over the national flag to Inspector Dal Kumar Rai of Police Office, Bhadrapur.

The flag-hoisting program was attended by people’s representatives of the ward, police, and locals.

A police post was constructed across the Mechi Bridge with the financial assistance of Rs 1 million from Bhadrapur Municipality. The police post did not have a national flag after it came into operation.

Ward 5 Chairman Karki said that the flag was provided by the ward office as there was no national flag at the second-largest border point in the district to give a glimpse of border demarcation along with the pride of the nation.
