Nepal ranks third in contributing peacekeepers to UN



KATHMANDU: Nepal has made it to the third position in the list of nations contributing peacekeepers to the United Nations.

Nepal Army (NA) Spokesperson Brigadier General Santosh Ballav Poudel informed that Nepal has reached third place in the list of nations contributing peacekeepers to the United Nations.

Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army’s 5,686 personnel are currently deployed in different countries for establishing peace.

Earlier, Nepal was in the sixth position. Bangladesh contributes the highest number peacekeepers to the United Nations, followed by Ethiopia, Nepal, Rwanda, India and Pakistan.

The Nepal Army has been saying that it can send up to 10,000 troops to the peacekeeping force.
