Locals urged to remain alert of natural disaster



RASUWA: Rasuwa District Disaster Management Committee has urged the local residents to adopt precaution while moving to any places as the incessant rainfall has caused sporadic landslides in the district.

The Committee cautioned the local folks to stay in safer areas and not to move along the banks of the rivulets with the rise in the water level of Trishuli River as well as frequent landslides after incessant rainfall.

Due to increased risks in view of disastrous incidents, the committee urged the people not to make any travel unless in any emergency as boulders are rolling down in steep areas.

Chief District Officer and District Disaster Management Committee chair Ishwori Prasad Dhakal said the rainfall and landslide obstructed roads in Mulkharka of Ramche-Syafru section, Dhunche Trishuli rivulet, Sanubharkhu, Yangyang and Medangfulung of Syafru-Timure section have been kept open by removing the debris.

The landslide debris was cleared off with the use of dozers of Rasuwagadhi, and Langtang & Bhotekoshi Hydropower as well as mobilization of security personnel of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force.

The local administration also has urged the road expansion project to ease the movement of goods laden containers coming from China in the highway expansion area near the Bhotekoshi Bridge in Syafrubesi.
