Two Chinese nat’ls held while entering Nepal thru back door

KATHMANDU: Two Chinese nationals, who were stealthily sneaking into Nepal without visas, have landed in the police net.

A team of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), a border guarding force of India, arrested them from no man’s land near Nepal-India border pillar 874 while they were entering into Nakalbanda of Jhapa district on Friday afternoon.

The SSB also arrested an Indian national for assisting Chinese nationals to enter Nepal.

The arrested have been identified as Chinese nationals Chen Zifa, Ding Shu Sheng and Indian national Mohammed Hanif.

According to Indian media outlets, the SSB team also seized NRs 2,400, IRs 1,000, US $90 from their possession, along with a motorcycle.

The arrested have been handed over to Naxalbari Police Station for further investigation after they could not produce necessary documents to SSB, Indian media reports said.

Earlier on March 16, Indian Police had detained two Chinese nationals at the Bagdogra airport in the Indian state of West Bengal, bordering Nepal, after they failed to provide proper documents.
