KATHMANDU: The 14th General Convention of Nepali Congress (NC) has been proposed to be held from August 23-26 in Kathmandu.

The idea of holding the general convention from August 23 to 26 was proposed at NC’s central committee meeting held at the party central office at Sanepa in Kathmandu on Wednesday, party’s Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma said.

Senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel had said that the general convention should be held in May.

However, the decision to propose the general convention was made following an agreement between party senior leader Poudel and NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

The party’s general convention will be held in the proposed date if the NC central committee endorses it.
