Two killed in Jhapa road accident



BANIYANI: Two people died in a bus-motorbike Collision at Kankai municipality-7, Surgapur in Jhapa on Wednesday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Santosh Rai, 33, of Rong rural municipality-6, Ilam and pillion rider Chandra Bahadur Rai, aged around 35-40, of the same place, informed DSP at District Police Office, Basanta Pathak.

He further informed that the west-bound bus (Na 5 Kha 7936) from west and a motorbike (Me 7 Pa 2846) coming from opposite direction had collided at Kankai-7, Durgapur along the East-West Highway on Wednesday.

They sustained critical injuries in the accident and breathed their last while undergoing treatment at Birtamodh-based B&C Hospital.
The lifeless bodies of both have been kept at the hospital. Police took control the motorbike, bus and bus driver Saroj Dhakal, a local of Chulachuli rural municipality-2.
