Journalists barred from entering SC



KATHMANDU: Journalists have been barred from entering the Supreme Court premises on Tuesday.

Journalists who went to cover the sit-in protest organized by the agitating lawyers of the Nepal Bar Association were barred from entering the Supreme Court, they said.

They were not allowed to enter even though they produced the press pass issued by the Supreme Court itself.

Earlier, they were allowed to enter through the gates of the Bar Association and the Supreme Court.

The security forces had barred people from entering the SC premises from 10:30 am to 12 noon on Tuesday.

Devendra Dhakal, the Joint Spokesperson of the Supreme Administration, said that the Supreme Court did not intend to stop the journalists but were stopped due to the security situation.
