Nepali National Team Coach dissatisfied at SAFF’s decision to suspend him

Accuses SAFF of biasedness in decision

KATHMANDU: The head coach of the Nepali National Football Team, Abdullah Almutairi, has expressed his dissatisfaction at South Asian Football Federation’s (SAFF) decision to bar him from the touch line on Saturday’s final match against India and accused the South Asian football body of favoring a nation against the other.

Speaking at a virtual press conference on Saturday, the Nepali Coach has alleged that SAFF had done injustice against him and Nepal by misinterpreting the football regulations and barring him from the touch line in the match.

“They (SAFF) changed the rules just to punish me. And they think when they punish me, they don’t punish me a person, they have punished Nepal,” Almutairi said.

He cited the regulation 59 (B) and claimed that SAFF authority deliberately misinterpreted the regulations just to prevent Nepali coach from the touch line as Indian coach was already suspended receiving red card.

Almutairi informed that he will protest against the SAFF decision in AFC and FIFA.
