Two held with over Rs 3.8 mln for ‘hundi transaction’



BIRGUNJ: Police have arrested two individuals with a huge amount of money for their alleged involvement in hundi transaction in Birgunj.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police deployed from District Police Office, Parsa, arrested Kanhaiya Prasad Sonar, the owner of KP Jewelry, Birgunj-6, Maisthan Chowk, and Dipak Kumar Sarraf of Parwanipur rural municipality-3 with Rs 3,851,100. The Sarraf is an employee of the jewelry shop.

According to SP Bel Bahadur Pandey, police had been tipped off about the hundi transaction underway at KP Jewelry.

Police have said they have started investigation into the case after taking them under control under Bank and Financial Institution Act, 2017, said Pandey.
