KATHMANDU: The Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) has demanded the Government of Nepal to endorse the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Issuing a statement on Friday, INSEC has demanded an end to impunity, and justice for the victims.
This legislation has been ratified by 123 nations of the world.
Nineteen countries in Asia, including Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and the Maldives, have joined the Rome Statute.
“The government has not addressed INSEC’s demands for years to pass the Rome Statute, the statement said.
“The ICC, established under the Rome Statute, holds accountable those involved in serious crimes such as war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity as defined by international law, and ensures justice for victims,” the statement said.
