KATHMANDU: The government has decided to buy Verocell vaccines against COVID-19 from Synopharm, a Chinese company.

A government source said that the decision to this effect was made during Monday’s cabinet meeting.

The government has decided to purchase the vaccine from Synopharm after the company made a written commitment to provide vaccines to Nepal.

Sinopharm made the commitment to provide vaccines to Nepal following a long diplomatic effort.

However, the purchase of the vaccines under the Non-Disclosure Agreement has raised concerns among health officials.
