Laxman Tharu declares they are preparing for final uprising



KATHMANDU: Laxman Tharu, who was convicted in the Tikapur incident in Kailali and was sentenced to life imprisonment by the High Court declared that the Tharus are preparing for a final revolt for justice.

Speaking at a press conference organized in a jungle in Kailali, Tharu announced that they are preparing for the final revolt.

“We are  preparing for a two-pronged insurgency with different sides,” leader Tharu absconding after the High Court verdict told in the press conference.

He added that he would go to the Supreme Court against the decision of the High Court and would also launch rebellion through the streets.

Tharu complained that the verdict of High Court seemed like the one drafted at the Prime Ministers and demanded that the political issues should be addressed politically.

“The movement for justice and rights should be addressed politically,” he told ahead.

He also accused Prime Minister Oli of dishonesty for dissolving the parliament.

He said that he would not even hold talks with the government at status quo.

Tharu, who was released after serving three years in jail following a Kailali district court order, has been absconding after the high court sentenced him to life imprisonment.
