KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has said the republic achieved after a long struggle of Nepalis would not be pushed to regression on anyone’s personal interest or signal.

Addressing a meeting of the active cadres of NCP Province-1 available at federal capital on Saturday, PM Oli argued the government was moving ahead by frustrating the adversity caused by the Covid-19 and the intraparty dispute in the ruling party at a time when efforts were underway for good governance and development.

Indicating the comment that ‘he was only bantering’, PM Oli wondered, “Why is anyone worried over my humor and bantering? Why to worry over Nepali’s happiness and smile? Efforts were there to disappoint people. But, (you) can’t. We don’t allow disappoint people.”

PM Oli further reminded that those commenting on him involved in disappointing people. “But, none is disappointed by killing and looting now,” he added.

He expressed wonder why some people were defining election as the event to ruin the country. According to the PM, the attitude of State capture was shown by chanting democracy but evading election.

“Those who do not want election; who did not attend party meeting; and who did not involve in the election under ‘Sun’ symbol are now demanding ‘Sun’ as election symbol from Election Commission. Why,” he asked.

On a different note, Oli said the vaccine against COVID-19 would be brought to Nepal soon, which, he argued, would accelerate the development pace.

The ‘Nagarik Apps’ the government launched yesterday would make Nepal modern and ensure good governance, he asserted.
