KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali who left for Delhi last Thursday for a meeting of the Nepal-India Joint Commission returned home on Saturday.
He landed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at 4:30 pm.
Talking to reporters at TIA after returning home, he informed about the discussions and consensus at the meeting of the Joint Commission and political meetings.
According to him, the meeting agreed to present the report of the Eminent Persons’ Group, revise the 1950 treaty, and discuss the border issues.
Minister Gyawali added that the meeting concluded in a cordial manner.
He said the main agenda of the meeting was vaccines against the coronavirus, adding that India would give priority to make the vaccine available to Nepal.
He also said that an agreement has been reached to resume air and land routes that were closed after the outbreak of the pandemic.
Minister Gyawali also said that an agreement has been reached to sign an MoU on the Raxaul-Kathmandu railway, adding that an agreement has been reached to operate the Jayanagar-Janakpur train soon.
