KATHMANDU: Police have arrested Rusil Katuwal, a central member of the National Youth Federation, a youth organization of CPN-UML, on fraud allegation.

According to sources, Katuwal, an inhabitant of Dharan-9, Sunsari was arrested from Koteshwor in Kathmandu, for selling land registered in another person’s name.

“We have arrested Katuwal after receiving FIR claiming he passed the land registered in another person’s name as his own,” the police said.

Under political backup, Katuwal, though in the absconding list officially, had been frightening the victim rather than returning the money.

Dhiraj Kumar Dahal, a resident of Morang Kerabari, involved in the scam is still absconding.

Katuwal was nabbed by a team of police deployed by the Crime Division of Nepal Police.
