KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has entrusted three central members to resolve disputes over active membership.

The party has assigned Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Dr Minendra Rijal and Ramesh Lekhak to resolve the active membership dispute within four days.

The party has also decided to resolve the active membership dispute at the earliest.

Earlier, the NC party had formed a committee headed by Lekhak to look into over 5,000 complaints.

The committee had resolved most of the disputes and submitted its report to party President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Meanwhile, the party has decided to hold its 14th general convention in November, shifting the convention slated earlier for September 1-4 by almost three months.

NC central member Min Bishwakarma said the Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting held Saturday decided to shift the date and hold the central general convention from November 25 to 29.

Likewise, ward conventions are slated for September 3, village and town conventions for September 12, provincial constituency conventions for September 1, federal constituency conventions for September 21, district conventions for September 26, and provincial conventions for October 27 to 29.
