SEBON unveils list of 51 companies witnessing irregular trading practices



KATHMANDU: The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has made public a list of 51 companies trading in the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), stating that irregular trading practices were observed in the securities market of the companies and investments were subject to high risk.

A SEBON-conducted study showed practices such as insider trading and cornering taking place in the shares of the 51 companies. The study reported that investors injecting large amounts manipulated the share market to increase share prices.

SEBON also submitted the study report to the Ministry of Finance.

SEBON also warned investors of risk and suggested investing in the market only after assessing the risk.

Of late, NEPSE has been witnessing record daily transactions of up to Rs 20 billion.
