SC Bar recommends senior advocate Ghimire and KC for amicus curiae



KATHMANDU: Supreme Court Bar Association has recommended the name of Senior Advocates Komal Prakash Ghimire and Prakash KC to represent it in the amicus curiae formed to offer its opinion to the Constitutional Bench on the hearing related to the dissolution of the House of Representatives.

The meeting of Supreme Court Bar Association held on Tuesday, recommended the names of senior advocates Ghimire and KC to assist in the hearing of the writ petition filed in the Supreme Court against the dissolution of the House of Representatives on May 21 by the President on the recommendation of the Prime Minister KP Oli’s cabinet.

The constitutional bench comprising Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabra, Justices Deepak Kumar Karki, Meera Khadka, Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada and Dr. Ananda Mohan Bhattarai had sought amicus curiae from the Nepal Bar Association and the Supreme Court Bar Association to assist in the case.
