Govt will now initiate to endorse MCC from Parliament: Law Minister Shrestha

KATHMANDU: Minister for Law, Justice and Federal Affairs Lila Nath Shrestha today said that the government will now initiate to endorse the much-talked Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact from the Parliament.

Minister Shrestha said he would not hold a discussion with Speaker Agni Sapkota on the issue.

Talking to journalists in Singha Durbar on Thursday, Minister Shrestha said Prime Minister KP Oli has asked him to talk on the issue and move the MCC forward.

Prime Minister Oli has been emphasizing that the MCC Compact, which has been stuck in the Parliament, needs to be discussed in the House of late.

He has also accused Speaker Sapkota of not taking an interest in the issue.
