Diesel stolen from Nepal-India Petroleum Pipeline



KATHMANDU: It has come to light that diesel has been stolen by breaking Patna-Motihari-Amlekhgunj Petroleum Pipeline.

Diesel is supplied to the depot of Nepal Oil Corporation at Amlekhgunj in Bara from Patna through the petroleum pipeline.

According to the Indian newspaper Navbharat Times, the theft took place near Dumra village in Siwan district of Bihar after breaking the pipeline.

The newspaper has also mentioned that this is the first incident of theft from petroleum pipeline in Bihar, adding that officials of the District Administration Office, Siwan, suspect that diesel worth millions of rupees has been stolen.

Security personnel guarding the pipeline had informed the officials of the Indian Oil Corporation after seeing diesel spilling in the field.

The report has mentioned that diesel was stolen from a small pipe by making a hole in the main pipe.
