KATHMANDU: The main opposition CPN-UML has continued its obstruction in the parliament on the first day of 9th session of the parliament on Tuesday. The 9th session of the federal parliament started at 2 pm.

Earlier, taking part in the all party meeting convened by Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota, UML lawmakers Krishna Bhakta Pokhrel and Khagraj Adhikari had clarified that they would continue obstruction in the parliament as their demands put forward in the previous session of parliament are not addressed till now.

UML has been accusing Speaker Sapkota of playing role in party split by not taking action against the defecting lawmakers including Madhav Kumar Nepal.

Earlier, in the UML parliamentary party meeting held on Tuesday morning, party Chair KP Oli had instructed the lawmakers to continue obstruction in the parliament.

The government has tabled five ordinances for discussion on Tuesday.
