Six businesspersons in Kathmandu join hands for humanitarian service

KATHMANDU: Six businesspersons from Chandarigiri Municipality-12 in Kathmandu have rolled up their sleeves in an act of humanitarian service.

They have used their vehicles (five cars and one motorcycle) to transport patients to hospital for free, which is at a time when the country has been shut down due to a prohibitory order following the second wave of Covid-19.

The service aims to ease access to health service for people in times of a crisis, said Rajesh Ghimire, one of the six involved in humanitarian work. One in need of help can contact them for free service.

They have given personal mobile numbers Rajesh (9851022189), Ram Narayan Ghimire (9851088199), Madhav Prasad Adhikari (9851081441), Bidur Prasad Adhikari (9851095026), Debendra Pradhan (9851044833) and Purna Prasad Shrestha (9851171237) for any assistance. The service is available 24 hours, said Rajesh.

“The health protocol will be followed while operating the service,” he said. They had also donated Rs 100,000 in cash to the fund set up by the municipality to help those in need during the first wave of Covid-19 last year and had distributed relief materials to the needy people.
