Maoist Center leaders seek commitment from top brass not to repeat Oli-attitude

Suggest to dethrone PM Oli through 'fast-track' approach

KATHMANDU: Leaders of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) sought a commitment from its leadership that Prime Minister KP Oli-trend would not be repeated.

Taking part in the party’s Central Committee meeting held at party office Paris Danda, Koteshwor, on Sunday, the leaders demanded assurance that Oli-trend would not repeat in the party and the government anymore.

According to party sources, most of the speakers of today’s meeting were concerned about self-centeredness and totalitarian attempts of the previous leadership and wanted it to be corrected now.

Most of the leaders opined that PM Oli should be sacked instantly as he is likely to further mutilate the constitution and the constitutional bodies if not dismissed now.

The province in-charges of all seven provinces had reported the party’s status in their respective provinces and advised the leadership to take stern action against the government.

Claiming withdrawal of support to the government alone will not suffice to sack the PM as it gives 30 days period to the PM, they suggested going for a fast-track way of removing him.

Today’s meeting of the Maoist Center gave consent to the disciplinary action taken against former Maoist leaders now in PM Oli’s government.

The next meeting is scheduled for 11 am, on Monday.
