Oli instructs Standing Committee members to create environment for polls

Reiterates elections will be held timely



KATHMANDU: Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (Oli Group) and Prime Minister KP Oli has claimed that the election will be held on announced dates.

During an informal Standing Committee meeting of his faction held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, Oli instructed standing committee members to focus on preparing the ground for the election.

Prime Minister claimed that the election would be held while the issue of dissolution of the House of Representatives currently sub-judice at the Supreme Court.

According to a leader, Prime Minister Oli has said that the election will not be delayed even one day beyond scheduled dates.

The meeting was also briefed about the issues at the apex court and the activities taking place at the Election Commission.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Oli also claimed that the party’s name and election symbol would be theirs.

Oli argued that since the Chairman and Secretary General were on his side, his faction is official.
