Three die in separate accidents



KATHMANDU: Three people died in separate road accidents in Mahottari and Baitadi districts in the last 24 hours.

Two persons died in motorcycle accident in Mahottari district while a tractor driver was killed in Baitadi district of far-west region.

In Mahottari, two people died in a collision between two motorcycles near the road leading to the Panchadhura temple at Bardibas Municipality-4, the District Police Office Mahottari said.

Police identified the deceased as 28-year-old Bijaya Kumar Mahato of Ishworpur Municipality-1, Sarlahi district and 27-year-old Suraj Tamang of Bardibas Municipality-2. The accident took place at about 9:00 last night. One Sonu Singh who was critically injured in the mishap is being treated at a hospital in Sarlahi.

In Baitadi district, 23- year-old Yogesh Pal of Dilasaini Rural Municipality-3 died when the ‘on test’ tractor he was driving met with an accident at Dogadakedar Rural Municipality-3 on Wednesday.

The accident happened at Taral of Dogadakedar Rural Municipality-3 at 1:00 am, the Traffic Police Post Satbanjh said. Rakesh Koli of Dilasaini-3, who was also travelling in the tractor, jumped off and saved himself. He received minor injuries in the accident. The tractor fell 50 metres down the road.
