World Hindu communities condemn persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh

BANGLADESH: Hindu communities around the world have condemned attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh.

The World Hindu Federation’s Bangladesh Chapter, issuing a statement this week, has protested the barbaric attack against 56 houses, 10 temples of the Hindu minority community in Shiyali village of Rupsha police station of Khulna district of Bangladesh on the pretext of insulting Islam.

Secretary-General Dipan Mitra of the chapter, addressing the statement to Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, stated that the Hindus in Bangladesh feel extremely powerless and insecure as the pro-liberation forces hold power in the country and as such, they consider the PM their last hope and shelter.

The Hindu community in Bangladesh urged PM Hasina to put an end to communal attacks on Hindus and provide exemplary punishment to all criminals involved in such targeted communal attacks.

The World Hindu Federation expressed its confidence that the PM of Bangladesh will take up necessary measures to protect the social, economic, and religious rights of Hindus there.
