Landslide displaces scores of families in Dolakha



KATHMANDU: Hundreds of households have been displaced by a landslide that occurred  at Khahare Raniban in Lapilang of Kalinchowk rural municipality in Dolakha district.

A total of 11 houses – nine last year and two this year –have been buried by the landslide.

The government has paid no heed to the calamity which has laid thousand ropanis of land barren.

Deputy Chief of Kalinchowk rural municipality Kalika Pathak said a mammoth landslide has occurred which requires millions of rupees for its control.

The landslide has swept away fertile land plots of 400 to 500 locals and rendered 15 families landless, said Pathak.
