KATHMANDU: Talks between Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal have ended on a positive note.
Emerging out of the meeting, senior leader Nepal said the issue of resignation of the disgruntled faction of the party has been put on hold for the time being.
“We will move ahead by forming a task force to resolve the disputes within the party,” Nepal told reporters while emerging out of the meeting with Prime Minister and party Chairman KP Oli.
The two leaders were engaged in talks at the residence of Captain Rameswor Thapa in Chapali Height in the capital on Thursday.
PM Oli and Nepal have also agreed to sit for another round of talks soon.
Senior leader Nepal has also urged Chairman Oli to take the party back to the status of May 16, 2018.
PM Oli has been making concerted efforts to bring the disgruntled faction of the party led by Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal into confidence.
With just a few hours left before President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s deadline to form a new government, Prime Minister Oli and UML senior leader held talks to narrow down the differences.
Party sources said PM Oli is also preparing to call a Standing Committee meeting today itself by inviting leaders of the Nepal-Khanal faction.
