KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a fraudster on the charge of swindling a person of Rs 5 million.

Acting on a complaint lodged by the victim, a team of Metropolitan Crime Division, Kathmandu, arrested Shakul Shahi Thakuri, 45, of Budhanilkantha-5 from Swoyambhu.

According to the victim, Thakuri had taken Rs 5 million by forging a fake contract promising the victim a piece of land located in Nagarjun municipality-6 for Rs 1.8 million per ana.

The arrested has been sent to the Metropolitan Police Range, Teku for further action, said the Division.
