KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Yuvaraj Neupane, who had given his candidature for the post of President of the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress, has withdrawn his candidature.

Speaking to media in Kathmandu Sunday, Neupane withdrew his candidacy and announced his support to Dr. Shekhar Koirala.

“Dr. Koirala has come with the vision to lead the party and country ahead, he has a team of young and visionary leaders. Hence, I decided to support him,” Neupane said.

With Neupane’s withdrawal from the list of contestants for the post of party President, Prime Minister and NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Bimalendra Nidhi, Dr. Shekhar Koirala, Prakash Man Singh and Kalyan Gurung are in the contest for party’s top post.
