KATHMANDU: CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Nepal has said any agreements reached affecting the writ petitions which are sub-judice in the Supreme Court will not be acceptable.
Issuing a Facebook message following the 10-point deal reached on Sunday, leader Nepal made it clear that the signatures of 23 UML lawmakers signed in favor of Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba as the Prime Minister will remain intact.
Nepal criticized 10-point deal inked yesterday to resolve the intra-party feud stating that any interpretations and comments that will affected the SC verdict on the writ petition will not be acceptable.
The UML dispute resolution taskforce meeting inked a 10-point deal held on Sunday night to resolve the long-standing intra-party differences.
Following the 10-point deal, Prime Minister’s Press Advisor Surya Thapa on social media said that Nepali Congress President Deuba has now only 123 lawmakers in his support as 23 UML lawmakers withdrew their support to him.
The hearing on the dissolution of the House of Representatives had finished one week ago and the SC is issuing its final verdict today.
The dispute in the UML has surfaced on early Monday even though the taskforce members inked the deal last night, sending a message that the long-standing intra-party dispute has ended.
