HUMLA: Chief Minister of Karnali Province Mahendra Bahadir Shahi and Nepali Congress leader Jeevan Bahadur Shahi, and other leaders made an on-the-spot inspection of the Nepali land in Humla encroached by China.

The team led by Chief Minister Shahi and NC leader Shahi inspected the disputed area along the Nepal-China border 10 months after the dispute over China’s encroachment on Nepali land in Lalungjong area of ​​Limi Lapcha area came to the fore.

On Saturday, Karnali Chief Minister Shahi, NC leader Shahi, and Province Assembly lawmaker Bimala KC visited Lalungjong in Lapcha and Namkha Rural Municipality-5 of Hilsa and inspected the disputed areas.

It should be recalled that a team led by NC leader Shahi, who is also a central member of the Nepali Congress, had made public a report last September after conducting an on-the-site monitoring visit of the Lalungjong, Hilsa and Keet areas.

According to Shahi, the state government has formally launched an initiative to protect the land in the northern area by inspecting the border.

He said that a memorandum has already been submitted to the federal and state governments last September to resolve the land dispute through diplomatic means.

Likewise, Chief Minister Shahi said that it was necessary to discuss the border issue with the federal government and make it a topic of discussion through to address the border disputes between Nepal and China.

The Karnali Chief Minister Shah, accompanied by the NC central member Shahi, had reached Simkot on Friday evening in a helicopter.

Chief Minister Shahi’s team has also inspected boundary pillars 12 in Lapcha and pillars 9 (1), 8 (1), 7 (1), 7 (1), 5 (1) and 5 (2) in Hilsa.
