Traffic to remain banned in some areas on Mahashivaratri



KATHMANDU: The Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD) has decided to ban traffic movement in some areas near the premises of Pashupatinath today on the occasion of Mahashivaratri festival.

Issuing a notice on Wednesday, the MPTD said traffic movement will not be allowed on the road from Chahabil, Old Baneshwor, Gyaneshwor to Gaushala via Ratopool.

Similarly, the vehicular movement along the road from Siphalchaur to Jayabageshwori, Lampokhari to Mitrapark, Gaurighat to Umakunda and Mitrapark and Tilganga to Gaushala will remain banned today, according to the notice.

However, the traffic along the the Ring Road via Tilganga Eye Hospital will remain operational.
